  71. This package contains a sample issue of PC Fishing Adventures (TM)-v1.0
  72. for Windows. It is published monthly by Jacobson Software Enterprises
  73. and features a new multimedia fishing simulation each month.  This
  74. document contains only a brief description of the package and its
  75. features, along with instructions for its installation.  More detailed
  76. documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived form,
  77. and is more easily read after installation.

  164. ===== Installation =====================================

  166. The installation procedure for PC FISHING ADVENTURES is quite simple.
  167. The package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the
  168. entire process.  Since PC FISHING ADVENTURES is a Windows application, it
  169. must be installed from Windows.  You will need about 1.6 MB of available
  170. disk space on the hard drive on which you plan to install PC FISHING
  171. ADVENTURES.
  172.  
  173. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  174. PC FISHING ADVENTURES.
  175.  
  176. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  177.  
  178. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  179.  
  180.    o  Place the PC FISHING ADVENTURES distribution diskette in the
  181.       appropriate diskette drive.
  182.  
  183.    o  Run Windows with the Program Manager active.
  184.  
  185.    o  Click on the Files menu option.
  186.  
  187.    o  Click on the Run option
  188.  
  189.    o  Run the "SETUP.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  190.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  191.       the command, "a:setup".

  193.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  194.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  195.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  196.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  197.       the PC FISHING ADVENTURES files to that directory.  If you received
  198.       PC FISHING ADVENTURES on two diskettes, you will need to insert
  199.       Disk 2 in the diskette drive when asked to do so.  If you so
  200.       direct it, the installation program will install executable
  201.       programs and documentation in other directories of your choice.
  202.       It will make no other changes; specifically, it will not modify
  203.       your autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  208. If you downloaded PC FISHING ADVENTURES from a BBS (or received it in the
  209. form of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform
  210. the following steps.

  212.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  213.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  214.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  215.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  216.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  217.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  218.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  219.       the package.

  221.    o  - Run Windows with the Program Manager active.
